Filomena Irving was last year’s “Winner’s Choice”. She is a retired middle school science and health teacher and currently a full-time artist and creator of a wearable art line. Website: artbyfilomena.com

She was blessed in childhood to have a mom who fostered creativity in her, and always provided the materials, time and space to do so. Her love of all things art led her to take a leap of faith and start painting at the age of 55 with no formal instruction or training. She knew it was in her and has never looked back. She tries to create something every day even if it is only for 20 minutes. Although she is a retired school teacher, she continues to teach both herself and others how to paint. She loves to spend time with my wonderful family, travel, garden, run, practice yoga and cook!

Country Sip & Paint - Aroostook Partners In The Arts

Aroostook Partners in the Arts presents a fundraiser on August 4 from 1pm - 3pm in a beautiful country setting at the home of Pat and Hermon Condon. You will be painting on roof slate. There is a 30 seat limit. Reserve your space for $35 (includes supplies). Refreshments of assorted finger sandwiches, sweets, hot and cold tea, lemonade and flavored water will be served.

Wintergreen Arts Center - CHAIR-ity 2017

Filomena has restored and painted two chairs that will be on display (along with chairs by other artists) at the CHAIR-ity 2017 event at the Wintergreen Arts Center in Presque Isle on Friday, November 3 from 6pm-8pm. Bidding on the chairs will begin when the doors open at 6pm and final bidding will end on December 16 at the Annual Rotary Auction.

Wintergreen Holiday Art & Craft Fair

Filomena will have her work on display and for sale for the Christmas season at the Wintergreen Holiday Art & Craft Fair on Saturday, November 18, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. FREE admission to the public. Stop by to view her paintings, greeting cards and other items. 

Wintergreen Arts Center will also have a Basket filled with Vendor Gifts to RAFFLE off to a lucky person. And, we'll have DOOR PRIZES too.
